Just seeing what I would be offered before i bother doing any work to it (someone might like a project, i wont be able to start working on it for another 2-3 weeks) From what I can tell it is a Dawes Galaxy. It is a small frame (ill get around to measuring it later). Everything on it is original as far as i can tell. It is quite tatty but would scrub up well and with some new cables, pads and bar tape would make a cracking bike. Open to sensible offers on this, Not in a rush to sell, just dipping my toe in the waters. Bike is located in the WS1 postcode area. PM me.

I've had a bit of a further look at it.
The headset turns nice and smooth. Bottom bracket is good and turns nice and smooth.
The brakes and the gears still work fine, but of course could do with new cables and pads eventually (could get away with minor adjustment for now)
Looking at the tyres, i cant see any obvious cracking or aging to the sidewalls and there is some tread left. The wheels seem to spin smoothly but if im being fussy, there seems to be a very slight buckle to the front wheel. The front mudguard has snapped at the bottom ( can kind of see in pic).
The frame has specks of rust here and there but it was sat for some time, however I think it would clean up rather nice with some wet n dry and a bit of effort.
Ill get the frame size tomorrow. If nobody wants as a project, ill clean it up, chuck some new pads on and put it up for sale elsewhere

(ill be honest, I purchased it as I was going to butcher it for its bars, levers, shifters and rear mech but its too good to be butchered)

The bolt-on front fork lamp bracket suggests to me that it's 1970s or early 1980s vintage - and those "suicide" brake levers have to go!!! Sadly step-through frames are not very popular - most ladies preferring a frame with a crossbar/top-tube - that does tend to rather drive prices down.

Ill only be removing them IF I actually get around to getting this to a safe, rideable state. Dont want too much for it, I know its not worth a whole lot but in my mind, its still too good to just butcher for its parts when It could still be put too good use.

Agreed - old Galaxies are great - my #1 tourer bike is a 1975 Galaxy ... although it's only the frame and forks as original and has been repainted twice - everything else has been updated ... still a superb ride.

A bargain,shame it's too far away.
Have had multiple people asking if I would be able to wait in for a specialist courier to collect unboxed? never heard of them myself but maybe if you could find the company ;) ;) Im unable to box but happy for a local member to collect and box + send through courier if buyer is comfortable with that etc etc
