I dream of the days when petrol is £2.00 a litre !

I bloody don't !!! I still drive at weekends and i still have to pay for the fuel in my wifes car !!!
You need to liven up your dreams !!!

The only hassle I had was filtering on the right (40mph zone) and a cabbie flashed me - I guess my Fenix L2D was a bit bright.

Bloody bright but unfortunately I lost mine in Bangkok when it fell off of the handlebars.

I bet on most days you love the freedom and sheer damn good fun of riding your bike tho.

The only difference about the abuse is on a bike you hear it, in a car you'll get called just as often. Some cock you've probably never met calls you a name cos you're far happier on your commute than he is, balls to him, let it be water off a ducks back, smile and enjoy the ride.

Yeap that's the way to go

Cheer yourself up with this:

Every single one of them is far angrier, more bitter and contorted with rage than the minor annoyance you feel. And why are they angry?

Deep down... for some deep deep down... they want to be you.

I prefer to think:

Every single one of them is far angrier, more bitter and contorted with rage than the minor annoyance you feel.

They'll end up with peptic ulcers, heart attacks and strokes. Whereas I get fitter and healthier with every pedal stroke, and the extra adrenalin from the odd annoyance just gets me to where I'm going faster.

Only if you don't mind the price of food and other essentials going up by a similar amount.

Be careful what you wish for.

Thanks for all the replies peeps.
They have cheered me up and made me more detmined to just ignore motorists and get on with the bike

It's often the best policy to just ignore them although not always easy. I cycle through Cambridge a lot as well and some folk there do seem quite erm.. highly strung shall we say. A bit arrogant too (because they've got some 3rd rate Poly in their town they think they're all bloomin' perfect). Having said that though, and I'm tempting fate here so watch this space, no one has ever yelled at me about not paying any road tax. Plenty of other stuff, but never the old road tax chestnut. I feel a bit left out

Once spent a summer working as a park keeper. There was an old timer there called George. I don't think Georges exist any more....flat cap, beaky nose, unlit rollie hanging out the corner. Used to mumble away thru' tea breaks telling interminable rambling stories of the indignities inflicted by members of the public, all of which ended up the same way: "so I said, I said fook 'em." Always gave us a good laugh at the time. But I've never forgotten George, and those seven words have stood me in good stead over the years.

I love that. At the end of the day so long as those you care about and respect care about and respect you who gives a !*&$ what anybody else thinks about you.

..only £2..? its forecast to be up to £5 within the next 6 years if the people on the street are to be beleived.

Rubbish. It will hover at its present price because that's what the oil companies and the government think drivers will just about tolerate and it won't increase because of all the new oil that's coming into the market.
