Really? Early morning or late evening is exactly when you'd do this sort of cull.
No it's not.
Yes it is.

Panto season already?Yes it is.
I don't think so ...Would feel the same if they weren't so cute and cuddly, rats for example?
You don't kill rats do you Colin?!![]()
I advise Accy to check over his shoulder before answering that question!Panto season already?
A mate and I used to use his rifle to shatter milk bottles at a range of about 25 metres, so maybe not!Isn't an air rifle a bit underpowered for killing rabbits?

Not at all. Perfect tool for a pest control in a small space like a cemetery.Isn't an air rifle a bit underpowered for killing rabbits?
I just read that to kill a rabbit with an air rifle, you have to place a head shot in an area no bigger than a 10p bit. Presumably, if you had a more powerful weapon, it would be easier to kill it humanely because the target area would be bigger. BTW, I don't shoot animals myself.A mate and I used to use his rifle to shatter milk bottles at a range of about 25 metres, so maybe not!![]()

I don' think Hyndburn Borough Council would give permission to someone to go on a rabbit cull in the early hours. If they have done then it wants publicising, but i just don't think they would. It would be illegal anyway as the area where they were allegedly shot is too close to a public footpath. Even if there's no one on that footpath it's still illegal to fire an air rifle 15 meters or less near to that path

Where do you get this legislation from? it's just that after being involved in shooting for the last forty two years, and a serving police officer for the last twenty nine years, this particular law appears to have slipped past me.
I'm sure it's possible to use an air rifle to kill rabbits instantly but you have to be a decent shot. The pellets are travelling quite slowly so the trajectory is quite curved. This means you have to adjust the sights to suit the distance to the target if you want to place an accurate shot. Then if that's the case someone has been firing an illegal weapon in a public place. Maybe its time for me to visit the local police station to report this. That's if they're open of course.
Him and literally thousands and thousands of others. He's googled, come across this article and misunderstood it entirely.
You've clearly overlooked the operative bit. I've bolded it for you.
