The fact that you stepped in and gave it a shot is a lot more than a lot of others would. Well done for your efforts. Sad news someone so young has gone. But I can assure you the girls parents will be thankful you helped.
Take it easy today and try not be down on yourself.

You gave her every possible chance, and I'm sorry she didn't make it. It's a horrible thing to happen; I feel for you and her family.

Most times it's part of the 29, not the 1, that's the way odds work. Still sounds like you did more than most would have done and sounds like it was better than I could have done. Thank you for trying. It probably improved her odds.

I wasn't going to comment but then I came back because I hope the expressions of gratitude for trying makes this one of the longest topics on here and encourages EVERYONE who reads it to learn some emergency aid and to try to apply it if the need arises. Which reminds me: I probably should update mine...

That's awful.

You did everything anyone could have and far better than all but a very few would have managed (me definitely included) so don't feel bad about yourself just because a bad thing happened in front of you.

Thank you for being the kind of person to act, when others would freeze in terror. Thank you for trying your best, regardless of knowing that even your best might not be enough.

Everything you did just gave this poor little girl more of a chance. Don't change who you are because of the outcome...you did everything right.

Respect.

Thanks guys for your wishes. I'm ok, a bit pithed off and introspective today. Bit of soul searching, could no have done anything better, anything else? Ill be fine.

You did all you could and it wasn't to be. I have a close friend who is a paramedic, I've seen him in action once (guy collapsed on a ferry we were on) and he wasn't successful. The way he/they look at it, you sometimes bring people back, but if your actions weren't enough then that's all you could have done, and you did your best. A lot of people are already gone, not being able to fix that isn't a failure, not trying is. It was good that you were there, they won't be saying 'what if someone had known CPR'.

I feel for you.
Training in CPR doesn't allow us to turn water into wine. All we can do is our best and the sad reality is, it isn't always going to work.
As hard as it is, try not to beat yourself up about it.
