Hi all.....a big thank you to all those who persuaded me that South West France should be my holiday destination (rather than Cornwall). How right you were. A whole 13 days of constant sunshine. Here's some pics to make you all jealous! As you can see I had a problem keeping my eyes open for a few of them due to the seriously bright sunshine!

It's very sad I know.....but there is a good reason. We picked them up for 30% off due to a blunder on a certain website that shall remain nameless! Entry level roadies but they have done the job so far!

One question. How did you get there? I'm considering going sometime to the end of the summer. Looks like a great place.

We drove. It's a heck of a long way - a good 10 hours driving. We stopped overnight both ways. At Le Mans on way there and at Beaugency (near Orleans) on way back. Both lovely places. Can give you hotel details if you need them. As for Cote Savage - beautiful. Very flat but great cycling and some beautiful beaches. Let me know if you decide to go and I'll give you some recommendations.

Orleans? I know it well..... I was born there.

Nice pics JaneyB,

We're heading down that way in 6 weeks time, but staying a fair bit further north, nr. Saint Gilles Croix De Vie, Vendee.

We've managed to get 2 weeks away without the kids  and are taking both of our bikes, so hopefully will have a few pics of our own cycling adventures :becool:
