something easy, but exciting to do

I've got a close friend who doesn't really seem to like anything...and says they are bored alot, so I've offered to do something different. However, it must be cheap. Normally, a cycle ride would be pukka, but this person isn't very fit at all, and wouldnt enjoy it, at least this time.

I'm just thinking of crazy things to do, crazy fun and cheap...... I live near the beach if that helps

i've always been a bit adventurous, or adventerous, and used to spend hours with friends in "the woods" - lived next to a vast area of woods, and the amount of den, climbing trees etc was great. Used to see how far we could get staying off the ground etc (ended in tears many times) .... crossing the swampland was a particular favour of mine. Many a shoe was lost, and a few less seasoned friends shed a couple of tears at times when up the the neck in goo.

But what about somebody who "doesnt get out much" in that way...I mean they are really sociable, go out looodes etc, but just complaining about being bored a lot - so being a good friend, I want to introduce them to fun, whilst not killing them at the same time. tricky

unfortunately not, but I have done one of these and they are GREAT fun, however, I don't like how contrived they are - forcing you to take certain paths etc, nothing really too challenging...however, it is still well worth the money in my books

Go camping? Cheap if you already have the gear but not otherwise. You could combine it with a shortish walk there and back.

A couple of bottles cider, get to the beach and have a stone skimming contest. Then get to the pub and pull a couple of slappers.

Close, but no cigar... If you really want to be snapped out of it, jump in the sea before the cider. You probably won't die from some terrible cardiac trauma, but even after ten seconds, you will come out feeling wonderfully alive. Hit the grog and the pub shortly thereafter. The ruddy, healthy look on the face will make you irresistible to members of both sexes. No worries.
