Golf ?

There is an archery club in Fareham called Talisman Bowmen, thats a bit of fun. Although, don't mention my name, I had a bit of an affair with the club lady champion, she was married to the Social Secretary..ooohhhh it all got very nasty:blush:

10 Pin bowling next to Asda ?

Or follow RichPs advice, which to be fair, is what I would be doing:evil:

Never Follow RichP's advice! :laugh::ohmy:

I would try some of the options here, a driving range and pitch & putt are both cheap, you can get a clay pigeon shooting lesson for around £15-20 so find a local club and have a go or paintballing.

Failing that, do what User76 first suggested and take him out to pull a slapper nice respectable girl, hope they hit it off and become 'an item' so its her problem and you can slowly lose touch with him (happens alot at your age dude, can't be helped;) ).... Happy days! :wacko::biggrin:

HI Montage,

I see you live in Fareham, as do I.

Have you thought of a trip to Salisbury? Only takes 35 mins by car, very easy to get there.

You can do a tower tour in the Cathedral; great fun if you like that kind of thing and are not scared by heights! Plus there's a fantastic italian restaurant just outside the cathedral gate.

I took my German friend there who is absolutely terrified of heights - she loved it and was really pleased with herself for getting up the tower and back down, although she said she would not have done it if I had told her in advance!

Salisbury Cathedral is fascinating and my favourite building, a stunning example of state-of-the-art medieval lightweight stone building technology. William Golding's book The Spire describes in fiction the crumbling of the four pillars, which support the tower as it was built progressively taller and taller and increasingly heavy. The cathedral was built on alluvial gravel and has no proper foundations so if you stand and look along the line of the clerestory windows you can clearly see how the sill has sunk as it approaches the crossing and if you look up the pillars you can see how they have bowed inwards under the immense weight. The centre of the spire is a couple of feet out of perpendicular, you can see plaques on the floor marking the centre of the crossing and the centre of the spire. When you go up into the roof you see the tops of the vaulting in the nave and your guide should explain how the "legs" of the vaulting are fitted with plugs designed to break out to release water in the event of the sprinklers in the roof being activated, so as to prevent collapse of the ceiling. There is also the world's oldest clock and a treadmill in the spire, which was used for winching building materials up.

Fascinating and never fails to bring the emotion welling up when I visit the place (my mother's family were Salisbury tobacco and snuff merchants and she and my sister live in Salisbury). Best of all is being there when something nice is being sung and the harmonies of Palestrina or Byrd or Tallis are echoing poignantly around the building.....

Golf? Are you *mad*? ;)[/QUOTE]

I'll second that!

I think I'd rather pull out my own teeth with a pair of pliers than spend a day playing golf! It is the second most boring game invented, with the most boring being darts ...

Advise him to study something, nothing like keeping the brain active to alleviate boredom. Highly recommend the OU.

Then you do not have to supervise somebody elses fun.

Darts is much better than golf, if only because it usually happens in the pub and you can combine it with beer and conversation.;)
