In the zoomed in version, you can see the the person who jumped out was driving, and the baby fell from the passenger seat. They drive on the left in this country (unless the baby was driving).

Yes, see what you mean - it appears that the driver initially tried to grab the child and then followed it out of the passenger door. Bizarre!

At least he has his priorities right. You can always replace a car (well you can replace both car and baby but you need to have one to come first).
Very true.

I did mean the incident was bizarre rather than the behaviour (bad wording in my post). I'm sure any parent would act first and think about it later under the circumstances.

It was very bizarre how the door just opened. It didnt look like the car was defective.
I can only guess that the child was playing with the door handle and wasn't strapped in. It was incidents like that which led to child locks becoming standard fitment on rear car doors.

This looked like a baby wrapped up, not a child. I understand where you are coming from though.

EDIT: I have just looked at it again, I can see little boots and a head so it was a toddler, about 3/4 years old.

Lost it, got it again.
Seen this before. IIRC the car had a problem with it (brakes probably) so the man opened the door and put the kid out and then jumped out himself.
