If anyone remembers the YouTube video of the cyclist being hit by one car then driven over by another may find this interesting.

"Driving without due care and attention.
Driver one RJ05 EFO Chris Bassett OF Harrow, PLEADED GUILTY ( His statement was that he's insurance company told not to plead not guilty as there was no damage to his car but on seeing the video he pleaded guilty). : RECEIVED SIX POINT AND A £230 FINE.
Drive two NC04 LXG Sue Trepak of Hanwell, has pleaded NOT GUILITY even on view the video. The court case has been delay until sep 2012 due to the court has not the facility to play the video format (.MOV)."( borrowed from another place, original text from YouTube)

How did she not see him....he was knocked down right in front of her!!!?? Shouldn't really have a license if her driving is that poor and doesn't seem to really know it either.

That video still winds me up to this day.

At least the bloke knew what he'd done wrong as soon as he'd done it, had the balls to admit it, apologise right away and take his punishment, to hell what the insurers said.

Sue though... Damn.
WHERE WERE YOU?
That voice still haunts me to this day...!

She seems to claim he was already on the floor when she pulled out? Why pull out then? That makes it sound intentional...or she was trying to leave the scene of the accident? Either way, I don't she how she can claim to be not guilty.

Where did you find that info BSRU? I have seen the video before and Iam now disgusted that the woman is not even accepting the blame for running him over. The guy seemed genuinely concerned though, even though he was the one who caused it.

The guy who hit him was not paying attention, but at least he was decent about it - said sorry right away and pleaded guilty. The woman who actually ran him over... well, all I can say is that she's a cowardly scumbag! How anyone could go into court and plead not guilty, when what she did shows an incredible lack of care, is just contemptible. If I were the judge, I'd throw the book at her.

And in this case, the cyclist was going the proper speed for the situation, and was in the absolute correct lateral place in the roadway (far enough out to be seen by anyone who bothered to look), so there's no excuse whatsoever.

I wonder where the heck the woman could have been looking if she didn't see him. Where he was was exactly where she needed to be concentrating as she paused or stopped to make sure she was giving way (which I doubt she even did) and made that turn. It's not as if any potentially conflicting vehicles could have come from anywhere else but where the cyclist was.

There are plenty of scum out there, been on the receiving end before. Hence why I punched the bloody car that took me out in December 2008, and dragged myself up - adrenaline is good stuff. I was raging. I made damn sure the driver didn't get away.

Same with the RTA I saw with a cyclist in March. The driver is going to be procecuted and I've supplied both police statements and legal statements. That one is for the cleaners !

That said, there are many decent folk too. That lady has dug a big hole, and to stand up in court and keep digging is stupid.

The interesting thing is that, if you look at what the woman could see, her line of sight was interrupted by that big white van, and then the cyclist was possibly obscured (but only a bit) by her car's right front door frame, but these are not excuses. She should have moved her head back or forward to have a clear line of sight, which she obviously didn't do. She did not take any care to ensure that the road ahead was clear.

This is the first time I have seen this video and I am in shock. Poor bloke, that woman wants a good slap like she doesn't give a monkeys that she could have run him over.
