My first love was an avid Duran Duran fan. We eventually went our seperate ways in our mid twenties, but he was always the one who got away.
This song became particularly poignant when he died a few years ago. Very sadly, he'd taken his own life. People always say Duran Duran lyrics are nonsense, but this speaks volumes to me.

I joined the army mid eighties, went from school boy to grown up pretty quick. This sort of reminds me of being sixteen and walking up to report to the guardroom on day one. Also reminds me my girlfriend dumped me on day two.
