Sora or Upgrade

I think my sora (9spd) shifter is broken. So do I replace it with a second hand one from ebay (£30 - £40 I guess) or bite the bullet and upgrade the groupset to Tiagra or 105 10 speed? If so exactly what do I need to replace? Shifters, both mech's, chainset......

what sora shifter is it 3400 (2010) or 3500 (2012).

if its 3400 9 speed i have a spare set in my loft

i will get them out of the loft and take a picture then make me an offer

they were on my spare bike that i only use for the turbo trainer. i upgraded the groupset on that bike to the 3500

as you can see they are in excellent condition and never been in outside

the left hand is a triple, the right is 9 speed

It is the right one I might need. I have a compact but assume that the right is the same for compact or triple? I will know for sure if it's needed tomorrow morning after I have spoken to the LBS. Cheers!

I've spoken to the LBS this morning and my shifter can be saved. Many thanks Jason for going to the trouble of digging your old sora shifters out!
