I wasn't referring to the price tag. It's just that Lotus's are seen as enthusiasts cars, and in my experience, car enthusiasts tend to take a bit of pride in their driving ability.

Fair point. I guess the guy in the video does not fall into that category tho

Doesn't do any of us any harm to learn to pick our fights carefully.

Seriously though Matthew, there are some savage b*stards out there, be careful.

Not my experience though HP

I know several Elise owners. They mainly use them on track days and are undoubtedly good at that.

On the open road, they are a nightmare - basically they treat the road like a track and brake too late, accelerate too quickly etc.

I was once driving into work (I know, I know) and a guy jumped out of his car at a set of traffic lights try and open my drivers door while screaming obscenities and kicking the side of my car. This went on for a good couple of minutes before the lights changed and I drove off. I made a note of his number plate and reported him to the police.

What had I done to deserve being the object of this individuals rage? I had been on a roundabout, coming from his right but he had not noticed me and started to pull out only to have to hit the brakes when he saw me there. I did not think anything of it, I had not even had to beep at him or anything. He was of the opinion that I should have slowed down so he could go around in front of me!!

I was glad I had a couple of tons of metal around me so he could not physically get to me, what he would have done if I had been on a bike I don't know. There really are nutters out there, not many, but you really don't want to get into a fight with one!

I'll do the later and learn from minor incidences.
Yes.
This video illustrates an issue that I also suffer from myself. You know there is not room to pass safely, so you move out to try to discourage motorists from passing. But you don't want to be accused of being arrogant or aggressive so you don't move right out into the centre of the lane. This is irrational, of course, because if they shouldn't pass, why not block them completely. The lesson, then, is either take the centre of the lane or move over and let them pass, but whichever it is, do it decisively (and with appropriate checks and hand signals).
I find this hard as well, but I'm getting better at it, and it's getting easier now that I have a bit more physical strength.

And if you want to really p off a dick-head like that, just overtake at the lights, stand to the side of him (not obstructing him mind) and give him some applause for winning the race to the red :bravo:

Alright then. Lets put the amount of incidents (minor and major) into perspective from this week so far:

Sunday: 4 Close passes, 2 must passes, 1 cut up.
Monday: 3 Close passes, 3 SMIDSY's, 1 must pass.
Teusday: 12 Close passes, 1 pinch point pass, 1 must pass.
Wednesday: 2 Close passes, 1 SMIDSY, 1 must pass.
Thursday so far: 5 Close passes, 2 must passes.

This month so far: 54 Close passes, 6 SMIDSY's, 16 must passes.

Do you want me to continue? I can give you every month from June's statistics.

To be honest I am not sure that is much worse than anyone who rides a lot of miles in heavy traffic, more concerning is the fact that you are counting

I have been meaning to do this to some of the people who overtake, and then slam on at a set of lights.

I think this will cheer my day up anyway. Thanks for the tip.

Just the vids I have in the file.

The reason I take note of every single one is that I can refer to them if there is a repeat offender who clearly targets me. I have only come across one person who has overtaken me closely three times in a row now but it wasnt agressively.

It is a bit sad I know, and I am not uploading all of them because apart from the amount that would cost (only upload 40GB worth in a month), people would just get so bored with the constant uploading and I would get nicknamed: The Demon Uploader!

Matt, no please don't continue. Many people in similar places where cycling is rare could put the same kind of statistics up. Back in the '70s and '80s when I cycled in London, I could have put up far worse: Had I (or were they) as obsessive about the close passes etc as you seem to be. This is what people are trying to get over to you.

Look, put up a vid of each idiot driver if yo can be bothered to upload them all, where it seriously endangers you, report them formally to the police (good luck); then dismiss it. If you don't and if you continue to be as obsessed with the restorative justice of lecturing them on camera, you are likely to come unstuck; either by encountering a thug who assaults you or by simply making yourself ill with the stress.

I think the tiredness of the amount of incidents gets to me as well. When I am out, I seem to forget all the good advice that has been given on here.
I could have simply applauded him in a sarcastic way and then filtered past him without any problems, but no, I decided the best tactic was to confront him and risk getting duffed up for nothing. I am a sad act arent I?

Clucking Bell MT, I haven't read the whole dialogue you posted and I haven't read the pages of replies but I have noticed that in your short time on this forum you do seem to have started an awful lot of threads about your interactions with the disgraceful drivers of Rhyl and the surrounding areas.

Don't you think the problem may be staring you in the face (or the mirror) as surely, no one half-decent cyclist could have this many incidents and not adapt to avoid such situations occuring on such a regular basis. If I were you I would seriously consider parking my bike up for good.

Sorry if this advice has already been given in the preceeding pages of replies but I really can't be ars*d reading any more of the drivel you are generating.

Merry Christmas :hello:
