Edit: I've been playing this for the last hour or so - it's 'kin brilliant! Really wicked.

It's a mbira - an African thumb piano. I've got one at home somewhere...

I love the bassist for EW&F... and the breakdown section where they all gradually put down their instruments and start dancing in the audience is a killer way to end the set. You just don't see bands that value sheer performance that much these days. The only thing I have seen that come close (in terms of performance not soul) was the very odd US collective, Sunburned Hand of the Man...
