I have one WITH a seperate SW.
I am letting my grandson have this and will be upgrading.
My lounge is small so i am exploring an 'all in one'.
Research tells me CHEAP all in ones dont perform well, i understand that.
So.......can anyone recommend a good one.

I can only say this. When I was tidying away after Christmas, packing away the lights etc I discovered Mrs P had unplugged the sub-woofer to plug in some sparkly lights.

No one noticed the difference!!!!

Do you need a sub-woofer??

I have a lot of stuff on smart plugs and the one the used to be connected to our subwoofer had an intermittent habit of failing to switch on when asked for the first time. I can say that it was very obvious when that happened and an easy fit by asking the smart plug to turn on a second time. Smart plug has since been replaced.

I bought a preowned Orbitsound system from eBay for my second home and been very happy with it. Didn’t cost a lot of money. Doesn’t meant OPs spec though as it does have a subwoofer but it’s not a particularly large one.

I dont know tbh. The soundbar i have (Samsung) is better the the sound from my 'good' 65" TV but it doesnt excite me.

My daughter inherited a Sonos Playbase when she bought her house. Think you'd have to source a second-hand one now but it's actually a great sound bar with plenty of base without the need for a SW

Sound from a soundbar is always going to be better than a modern TV. A cheap sound bar will sound better, but will suffer badly in bass - you'll probably not notice it much in general day to day TV though, watching WILTY for example or the News.

A great soundbar will have a separate sub - and you'll need to position it in the corner of the room for it to work best. A good soundbar may not have one, but will cost a reasonable amount.

You probably can't go too far wrong with Sony, Bose or Sonos. Of those I'd choose Sony for a number of reasons, Sonos have had software/cloud issues in the last couple of years and have a history of dropping support for features after a while. I've had Bose speakers in the past, and wasn't too happy with the sound - lots of Bass and Treble, but lacking in the mid-range.
