I was cycling from South to Central to North London today. I took an absolute battering from the wind while riding through Hyde Park. Must give my respect to the cyclist who absolutely skinned me for pace on the Outer Circle of Regent's Park. He looked like a "proper" cyclist, though
I picked the wrong day to try out a new stem. Which along with the gusty wind made things even more of a wobble. I managed in London, but on one road (B269-just outside Croydon) I had to take the cycle path and go slow. Drivers gave me lots of room though when I ran out of cycle path
Now today was windy! Not a headwind but a very strong crosswind all the way from home to Deptford Bridge. Once I'd dropped down off Blackheath it eased a bit but until then I was fighting the bike all the way.
