I am going to bring dry cycling kit and hope to change into it at half time.
There is A Cunning Plan and I'm pretty sure I'm not telling tales if I say that if there is atmospheric inclemency:rain:, the halfway stop in the dry and warm :heat::cuppa:might be a bit longer and the second half devoid of unnecessary :bicycle:mileage. So this should be much more comfortable an evening than you expect.;)

Martin, you're not going to try to get into the Sugar Hut again are you?

Most of packing done, gear readied, meal deals x2 (one for pre-ride, one for J31) bought. The luggage will be dry even if I'm not (Ortliebs). Two spare pairs of gloves. Looking forward to an excellent evening out. Followed by another one
And to get you in the mood, a suitable song....

I'm out  Was massively looking forward to joining you all for my first ride, but I spent most of last night ill and had a severe lack of sleep, so I'm not feeling up to it.
See you all for Whitstable instead

When I posted this, the front was around Tenby. It is now around Bristol. At this rate, what time does the tail, which has just cleared the Irish coast near Rosslare, pass over London?

We've had drizzle for the last hour or so, and now it's starting to lift. Not the worst cycling weather I've ever seen...

I'm looking at the rain map on the Met Office app. I understand the light blue is rain, dark blue is heavier rain but what on earth are the tan shades? Drizzle or torrents?

A key might have been useful.

Thanks Ade. Or no thanks. I see purple tonight means the heaviest rain imaginable just precedes the onset of dryness. Something to look forward to?

No key on latest Android here.

On demand service, as opposed to timetable.
I'd give him a call beforehand to check, if I was planning on using it.
