Arse ! Just messing with them and not sure if they were on the loosest !
Does the screw turn left if it is on the loosest does anyone know ?!?

I am pretty sure it's anti-clockwise L to loosen and clockwise R to tighten.

Just as you would tighten a screw.

i have my spd pedals and the cleats they came with, shoes should b delivered to the shop tomoz. I'm sitting here trying to imagine how the cleat will ever fit into the pedal and im not convinced, am i missing something (other than the shoes )?

Don't make the mistake of trying to set the cleats in the right position for you by leaving them loose-ish on the shoe and then clipping in. I did that the first time I got clipless pedals and spent a half hour stuck on my bike in the back garden leaning against the fence trying to unclip.
I just couldn't get enough leverage to get my foot out.

It was just as well my mrs came home when she did.

Mine have a plus and minus sign on them, minus to loosen, plus to tighten...

it's even easier for me.. my shoes have left and right labels on them...

Well I have obviously had them on not the loosest setting since I had them as now they are way too loose so gonna have to tighten them up again.

It's amazing how loose the loose setting is once your into clipping in and out.
