I suppose the answer to that is it depends!

What would you want it for? New or second hand?

I have a 2010 one that I've had for almost 18 months now and I really like it.

It has some compromises though the wheels, or more particularly the hubs, aren't very good quality and will need replaced if you use it a lot. Its pretty much a 'race' bike in its set-up and for commuting I think I'd rather have a touring bike with full mudguards and racks.

I bought one from a lad at work with less than 150 mile on it and its 1 year old. He broke his back at work and cant ride it now. I got it for £300. I will use it on a few sportives and on my rollers in the winter. I think its a great bike. Thanks for your opinions on it. Chris.

Cycle Plus and Cycle Active have both included Specialized Allez in group tests, and both put it at the top.

I've had a 2007 model from new & still love riding it. Although its now my oldest bike, its still my fav ^_^ Sounds like you have a great bargain there. As above though I think the weak point is the wheels & had to replace mine after a couple of years after the rims started to split
