I wanted to get the Elite tiagra (i actually wanted the 105 race but couldnt afford it on the ctw) but really dont like the look of it in white.
So ive ordered the sport sora because in my opinion its a much better looking bike (i think its important you like it if your going to ride it)
Ive not ridden the newer style sora shifters or running gear so cant comment on what they feel like.

Im thinking of buying a Tiagra set and swapping it out with the sora as soon as it arrives and selling the sora off to get some money back.

Question is apart from 10 speed am i being too harsh on the Sora? and would i be better of swapping everything or only bits ie shifters and crank?

Answers on a postcard please!

I have Tiagra shifters on my Allez Elite. Not used Soras before but I have heard that the thumb lever is not always within reach when you're on the drops. No idea if that's an issue with you.

2013 and 2014 sora doesn't have the thumb button anymore. I'd ride the sora and see how you get on. Swapping everything out could get quite costly. Maybe hang fire and save for 105

Ride it and see what you think, then you can make a decision. My brother in law has a 2010 Allez sport with Sora and he has no complaints and the bike has performed very well.

Keep the Sora until it works no more, then spring for something like this...

I have 105 on one bike and sora on another. Thumb shifting isn't great after 105,but it's OK. I would use and replace when the drive train wears out.
