Is it me, or does it seem like 80% of all twits cycling whilst talking on their mobile in central London, are riding Specialized Langsters?

I've just observed this today - I try and keep my distance away from anyone riding one now.

Anyone confirm/deny?

well in most cases the langster is the standard off the peg fixed gear (or free wheel) bike for the fashion concious, were they all on iphones?
Still, better they are on their phones on langsters than on their phones in BMWs

You do realise that a Fixed-wheel bike is realy a unicycle? The front-wheel is in fact little more than a stabliliser and the handlebars and brakes are cosmetic accesory to reduce fear in the genreal populous. Thus riding and talking on a mobile is not incompatible or unsafe as propulison, braking and steering are all done from the hip.

Maybe it's because I'm fairly new to riding, but what is it with single speed bikes being 'trendy' at the moment?

Noticed a couple of friends on facebook joinging the Nottingham Fixed Gear Cycling Club (or something like that), it's logo a gear cassette with an X through it. Looking through it's members looked like looking through a list of art students.

...

(I wish I'd got a single speed now)

You think? My experience indicates that the Langster is that it is oft derided amongst the 'hipster fixed community'.
