Well it goes to show how useful other opinions are.

The top 2 she likes are :-

1) Boardman Fi Hybrid
2) Cannondale Quick 4 (womens)


I would not have thought of either as i was going down the Spesh, Trek & Giant route.

A LBS is a Marin dealer so might have a look, but its more than likely it will be one of the above.

There is no hurry so she has time to look about and wait for a sale (hopefully)

UPDATE.

Well we went to Halfords and had a look at the Boardman, she liked the road race, but over budget.

So,

She bought a











Specialised Dolce.

Well she put the deposit on one and now has to wait until mid / end Jan.

To be fair she found it much better and Halfords would not let her test ride around the car park. The Spesh dealer had a test track.

Over her £500 budget but with some Xmas money from me its her choice so she should enjoy the bike.

She has been riding a hybrid for the last 18 months but wanted something a bit lighter / faster (no front suspension)

The Dolce ticked all the boxes for her, especially the gears (triple) and it looks good.

Its not the latest spec or anything but its a good solid all round bike she can use.

The boardman race was nice but for a female specific bike the sram reach was a bit of a stretch for her small hands.

Really nice bike...One of the ladies I go cycling with has one and really rates it...great all-rounder!!!
