It does depend on the optician/ technician you get, and the complexity of the lens prescription. I know Mrs A_T used to use Dolland and Aitchison for years but had one bad experience and never went back again.

I had a bad experience this year with Specsavers. all companies have problems, its how they get dealt with that is the measure of a company. I called head office and within an hour i had a call from regional manager , 30 minutes later i had the lab manager call me apologising profusely. He offered me a refund immediately or he could finish the work and he would do a home visit to fit them. I took the latter.

optical express however are , at best, a bunch of snakeoil merchants IMO.

Take them back - not fit for purpose. It will be the optician at the store that's cocked up. If they can't correct the problem, then you should get a refund.

A simple cock up like measuring the pupil distance wrong will have you seeing all weird. If you can't see, they have messed the test up - if the glasses won't fit (did when you tried them on) then they could be damaged !

I tried Specsavers and Boots and have gone back to using a traditional back street optician. Possibly costs a bit more (But I don't believe very much) and I get excellent service and treated like I matter rather than just one of a number who walk through the door.

They even fixed my glasses for free after I sat on them.

If you sat on me, I'd probably offer to fix them too

Try Boots. I've always found them to be good.

Went to Specsavers once a few years ago but haven't been back since, no real problems with the service but the glasses I got were a similar style to ones I have now but they are very flimsy and are my spare pair.

I do have to go back soon though as my firm has given us all a voucher for prescription safety glasses which we will have to wear at all times, they must have been the cheapest option

I'd go back and speak with the manager Gaz, should be fairly straighforward to sort out I would have thought.
