Anyone know what spider this is? Looks nasty and I have a 2 year old daughter.

So only the most dangerous spider in the UK, tho they cant kill you but if they do bite you its reallynot very pleasant.

Certainly looks like a False Widow, Did think Garden Spider Orb Weaver types but then on closer inspection i would side with Smudge and say False Widow based on its light brown legs...

the messy webbing gives it away as well, deffo widow :S

yep false widow. they have had a lot of over exaggerated bad press, but they can give a hurty bite if you annoy them a lot.
Also agree with Dave that it could just be an orb-weaver or a lace-web if it is in an outdoor location.
