Went to my first Spin class at the leisure centre this morning. Enjoyed it and certainly felt like I'd had a work out. Do you think this type of exercises on a static bike will help on the road bike? I do struggle to climb at a resonable speed on the road

It won't hurt it, but the only thing that is 'best' at getting you better at climbing is more climbing.
