My wife can't help referring to that mad chef as Blumen Hestonthal.

I friend at University always referred to Gatport Airwick. Deliberately. Drove me nuts.

O/T but I can't help myself tell the story of one of my aunts (a proper Mrs Malaprop) who once described her husband's haphazard driving as very erotic.

Mark and Lard on Radio 1 in the afternoon used to have a character called Berty Dastard:biggrin:

I just saw this thread and thought we had one like it about eight months ago- then noticed it IS the same theread from eight months ago.

So after eight months of thought on the subject-

Dickie Davis on world of sport one said "Lets go over to the cock sucker" instead of cup soccer" Not really a spoonerism but funny.

On one of our first dates I said to Mrs Greedo that I found something totally bizeird. Was trying to say either weird or bizarre. It is now between us an actual word to describe something either of us finds mental.

Hate couply things like that as well but hey ho!

That, strictly speaking, is not a spoonerism but a portmanteau word, a blend of two words where the syllables actually get mixed up. Examples are 'smog', 'brunch', 'telethon' etc.

In my student days our lecturer for organic chemistry was called Michael Hunt :becool:.

My nickname at school was Mike which is strange as I'm a Chris. Unlike Colin who isn't.

(work it out)
