Must admit Rocky Balboa is my fave fictitious sporting hero. What an awesome film series.

When I was a about 14 I went to see Rocky 4 and the police were in the cinema like a football match and everybody was shouting Rocky Rocky Rocky

EDIT , yes i know not technically a "sporting hero" but still a hero for me in my youth , certainly got me into kung fu, wing chun and tai chi ( packed up all except tai chi due to dodgy shoulder from a non sporting injury )
