I do wonder if they could be done for flytipping..

Alternatively, with a ladder and a thin bladed penknife or small screwdriver you could get yourself a nice little haul of spare zipties. Just need to practice undoing them....

There are quite a few around where I am as well and is getting a bit annoying. It should be part of a sportive organisers housekeeping to get them removed after the event. You don't want more things for other road users to rant about relating to cyclists.

I agree, but organisers - don't do it until after the event has actually finished! I was riding the Pendle Pedal once and a bored official was closing a feed station over 30 minutes before the cut-off time and cutting down the direction signs ...

Do what some scrotes (clever, intelligent, but scrotes nevertheless) did to the signs for part of the West Yorkshire Cycle Route? Rearrange them, so they direct riders into a cul-de-sac on a housing estate?

I noticed that when I rode the southern half of the WYCR in 2006 but fortunately I had my GPS with me so I could see what they had done!

There was a charity ride (watchet to west bay) thru here yesterday, all sign have been removed.

So to the organisers of that one - well done.

We don't have them here. Mind you, organising a sportive through Dewsbury means you might get out but the bike'll have been changed en-route for a Tesco/Sports Direct special.
