I have the Premium version on the laptop and phone. Sound quality always excellent. Although, they are expensive if you want to buy an album off them. I use it to listen to an album and if it's good, go to Itunes and buy it there. However, for the amount of songs you can access and listen to, £9.99 is superb value.

Here for rides.
Been a Spotify premium user since it became available in the UK. Since I don't own any sort of MP3 player (Radio 4 only for the odd foray in the car and don't like ear buds when running cycling or walking) buying albums doesn't interest me. Offline mode on the lappie is great for parties and similar gatherings.

Had been thinking about it for a while, but significantly less inclined to sign up now they've jumped into bed with Facebook

I used to have a spotify account, but never use it now. There are a few dodgy-ish free mp3 sites I do music downloads from now. You can also do Youtube-to-MP3 conversions dead easy, too.

I don't use spotify as much as I should but have just got round to looking up Pandora. Not available in the UK. Arse.

Yup. Premium user here too. Love it for streaming to the iPad when I'm in the bath, and also I can make a few albums available offline so can still listen to new stuff when not in range of a wifi connection. I also have a Sonos system for streaming music to the kitchen and the lounge, and this works with Spotify too.

Just trying out the free premium trial, and I'm v ery impressed. Might just have to stump up the tenner a month when the trial comes to and end in 30 days time. This ties in with me having worked out an easy way to hook my phone up to the hi fi (well, the low fi)

I don't use Spotify enough to justify paying for it but I do like it when I use it. I find it useful to listen to stuff I'm not familiar with rather than listening to stuff I'm aware of.

I dont have or use spotify but I do use something vaguely similar Itunes Match.
Basically it scans your itunes music library matches your local songs to songs on the apple servers. You can then stream OR download all your music collection to pretty much any apple device.

So, I have 46GB of music in my itunes library but only have a 16GB ipad and 16GB iphone. But with itunes match I can now access the entire library when I want over 3G or wifi. I also now have my itunes library available on my windows PC at work

Costs £22 per year.

I've wondered about this - apparently it's also possible to use it as a one-off.

So you subscribe once and it goes off, looks at what you've got (dodgy low-res MP3s included) and then all your songs are added to the cloud in a better resolution.

The you move your iTunes library (to another hard disk, say) and then you can download all the nice new files and you don't need to subscribe again after the first year.

I must say I haven't done it myself but it seems reasonable.

Yup thats possible and it does convert all your ** acquired** music into high quality bit rate stuff
