I don't mean to seem awkward, Mr Lane, but how would that help? Couldn't everybody else just contact the seller direct thru Gumtree? And if it's currently sitting unused/unloved in a garden ... well if I take it, the same will happen!

Others may not be able to travel / collect currently. Therefore it's a chance to hold onto something for a little white, giving it more time to be passed on rather than potentially skipped.

ah ok, fair point. But they better be quick, as it will just rust in our garden over the winter!
