Get a nice stone / light tan coloured linen jacket, then you can go a bit more mad with the shirts (pink or blue paisley patterns look nice under a plain jacket) and you won't look like you're someone who's trying too hard. It still gives you quite an individual style, but it's a lot less "in your face" than the Henley boating captain / city floor trader/ lunatic look.
