Squeaky noise coming from pedals

My bike is a couple of weeks old, it has clipless pedals (SPDs). Sometimes when I am pedalling there is a squeaky noise coming from my pedals (especially the left one). I have one reason why this is happening but I am not sure. The cleats on my shoes are in a recess in the soles that keep the cleats out of contact with the ground when walking. The squeaking sound sounds like the edge of the recess is rubbing against the pedal. I hope the squeaking stops in time.

WD40 could be your friend with this one, sometimes I use it when the SPD's are not functioning correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spray Gt85 on cleats or pedals.

Mine tend to squeak more when I'm tired and pushing down on the pedal rather than pedalling round and round.

This seems a common problem, and you are right @Moodyman the squeaking does seem to happen more when pushing down on the pedals

I get squeeking coming from both sets of clipless mtb type pedals, to be honest on my commuter I don't mind as people hear you coming (esp other cyclists) - GT85 sorted it on my other pair though watch for how easily you can unclip in future!
