sram 1/8 chain

i have a 1/8 sram chain nearly new on my usual sunday run it broke at the power link can i just reconect it with a chain tool no confidence in the powerlink first chain i have broke in 30 years of cycling

Is it the PC-1 chain you've got? No problem if you're confident enough with doing it. I've always connected mine without a removable link.
They're good solid reliable chains.
1/8" chains are sturdy buggers anyway.
