Sram Shifter Problem/ Warranty ?

I bought a Sram groupset in Jan this year. The RH Shifter has started to slip I have looked into the lever with the hood pulled back and it looks like some of the splines have sheared where the ratchet engages, meaning the shift lever slips on two or three gears while changing up. I have done just under 4500 miles so far with them, the bike has never been dropped or crashed. I am going to contact the guys I bought the groupset from, just wondered if anyone else had had similar problems or new anything about Sram warranties.

Just spoke to the vendor who has told me to send the shifter back to them and they will send it back to Sram service centre under warranty.
Now I just need to get my other bike in a half decent state. It is currently in bits in the garage

Mine snapped completely off at the hinge. LBS sent it back to SRAM who replaced it - I had a couple of weeks wait, but other than that no issues.
