SOunds like one of those rare incidents when the 'must use halfords' for insurance replacement is playing in your favour. Do it, but get someone mechanically competent (if you're not confident) to look over the bike before riding it.

Rivals are very nice and very trick. Tried them on a demo bike and they took about 2 minutes to get used to.

That says more about Shimano being overpriced than it does on SRAM Rival's performance

The SRAM Rival group set RRP is about £600, that's about the same price as Ultegra.

I used google and found it for £430 - perhaps missing some items?!

So probably more like Ultegra excluding special offers.

You should be able to get it well below RRP on-line, point is that at RRP SRAM Rival & Shimano Ultegra are a very similar RRP price. What you can get them for on-line is another matter, as I paid around £1k for my SRAM Red groupset down from a RRP of £1700
