Happy day to all

Wouldn't they have been celebrating it on the wrong day though?
Never mind. I'm sure there are plenty of other Saturdays where you can have a trouble free night out in Nottingham.MrsR and I like to have the occasional night out in town (Nottingham). We're both in our 50's but are quite capable of dancing the night away and rolling in at 3.30am.
We were umming and ahhing about going out last night, but decided not to, with one of the reasons being that there were likely to be quite a few men of a certain type out "celebrating" St George's day.
Sad really.

I agree to a certain degree with that. Also it seems any outburst of English patriotism is jumped upon as racist and just one step away from opening concentration camps!!!I think English people are reluctant to celebrate Saint George's day because it could be seen as gloating - England is the dominant partner in the Union.
What about 'Old Nick'down Wetherspoons don't forget to celebrate his birthday as well!!!I'm not English, but I'm happy to celebrate Shakespeare's birthday.![]()
