I am on fibre to house with ping of 7ms.
I'd switch to fibre FTTP if BT ever "pull their fingers out". Trouble is Country Broadband started offering it and I even signed-up for it with them and they turned out to be worse than any nightmare I've ever had; those in village who went with their service are apparently complaining like mad. But I guess that they are "present" means BT don't think there is a "market" so are just dragging their feet. I dislike BT but suppose I have a bit more confidence they'll fix issues should they arise.

GigaClear are supposedly offering a service (they've installed fibre but nearly a year ago but their own admin haven't twigged it's been installed yet so are not actually selling it (they even closed my driveway, dug across it and up by the road is one of their mini connection points!) ... and that level of admin and after County Broadband I'm suspicious of signing up with them.

As soon as I read about there being a dish involved I'm immediately reminded of why I was glad to move from satellite TV to streaming: if there was ever severe weather the signal got knocked out.
How does starlink cope with gale force winds and blizzards?

Local Grok? starts telling you how great ... <NCAP appropriate> ... which on reflection is linked to why I could never pass any of my money in that direction.

Incidentally increasing numbers of web sites are blocking access from Starlink, mostly partial as they are using a lot of IP ranges. My own personal site is partially blocking connections from Starlink users, currently mainly from S America but list is growing.

Then dish can handle high winds, and can even melt any accumulation of snow.

Apparently Starlink warn thet a heavy snow flurry can affect speeds, but in reality few seem to actually suffer.

Mind you, back when I had Sky and a dish I was never affected by adverse weather.
