Steampunks do 'tea duelling', have theoretical talks about Jules Verne and the like plus have etiquette conventions (in the unofficial rules sense) about polite behaviour. So, yes, there is more to it than dressing up. We all have our hobbies.

I think their outfits are pretty stylish and imaginative. I would look a right tube dressed like that but no issues with others that can carry it off.
