Steel Road Frame

Any recommendations for sub £600 steel framesets (not complete build). I will be building my own wheels, I want to be able to add rack and guards for commuting, but would ideally like a racier geometry rather than a touring spec. Ideally disc brakes too, but that bit's optional if the frame's right.

I was recently very close to getting a Surly Pacer, but it's discontinued now pending redesign, haven't found the right size at the right price in the used market.

Thanks @vickster, due to negative personal experience, I'm opposed to the p-clips as solution!
Fair enough, no issue on my genesis

CDF another option http://www.freeborn.co.uk/genesis-2016-croix-de-fer-725-frameset?gclid=CJuFnfaIwtMCFasp0wod-gsEDw

Actually looks like the newer Eq frames have the braze ons for a rack :okay: http://www.freeborn.co.uk/genesis-2016-equilibrium-725-frameset (non disc)

I already have the long haul trucker, I want something with a racier geometry. Straggler/Cross-Check are both nice frames, but a cyclocross bike is for another day!

Have a look at Gosforth cc they have some nice 931 frames that are just a little over you price but well worth it

You could look at a Specialised AWOL. I recently bought a complete bike and love it. Steel frame and forks, loads of braze ons and takes discs. Quite a long wheelbase. Will take tyres up to 45c. Little heavy but that's about the only minus. They offered a frame only but don't know where you'd find one. Might be a bit too relaxed for you.
I think the problem you're going to have is getting the braze ons in a more sporty frame.
