There was one (http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/coffee.111460/) however it was more about coffee drinking and chat (a bit like Tea, only less successful ), not about coffee places..

Myself and @TheDoctor were thinking of creating a blog about coffee-stops for cyclists, containing all valuable information (location, opening times, prices, friendliness towards cycling groups, etc), but in the end we decided against it, as we thought publicity might have been fatal for some undiscovered gems! :shy: Yes, we are THAT selfish!! :cuppa:

The only downside I see is self promotion by cafe owners, no problem if they are cycle friendly.

Exactly. They can self-promote all they like if they have a killer Coffee & Walnut Cake.. so to speak...

Wouldn't a cafe sticky be better off in the rides section?

I am not a member, I am a free man !!!!!!
I would Phil if it was ever open, when it first opened i gave it a write up,and when i did visit the lady thanked me i had printed out the posting to show her what i had done.

Yes they have some funny opening hours but they are open when I am likely to be about and I prefer it because you dont have to worry about the bike there as it is nearly always full of cyclists the bike is within watching distance.

If you fancy the Basingstoke Canal for a ride (which is excellent now BTW, since the track was completed), the Seasons Coffee Shop in St Johns village is nice enough for a coffee.
