Sympathy like for your OP there JD. I know how you feel, over the years I've had plenty of interruptions in my riding and 2016 has been the worst year for it so far.
Since September I've been down or ill or busy and I've not been able to ride at all! I was the fittest I've ever been in September and now it's almost sq.1 again. I tend to only notice after a 4 or more week break though so as others have said, don't rush it; ease in slowly so you're sure you've recovered and you'll pick it up again.
Worst case scenario and you're starting from the beginning: It's nothing you've not done before, you have all the gear and experience you'll so get back to where you were.
