Mrs Accy bought one that crackles as it burns. It's supposed to sound like a log fire. It smells nice.

Christmas is the only time I will tolerate a scented candle.
Some sort of cinnamon and mince pie smell and the flickering light gives a nostalgic feel.

Apparently Aldi were selling a candle that smelled very similar to an eye watering one.... (that was supposed to cost £50:eek::eek: - for a candle!). The radio said they sold out very quickly and that eBay was subsequently flooded!

Mad!! I can't imagine spending that much on a candle!

Missus D buys those battery operated air fresheners that give a puff ever half hour or so, like a kind of electro mechanical fart.
My mate Marvin had one of those on his boat . I went over for a beer one day and kept hearing this puffing noise so asked his missus what the noise was . she said its a smelly that gives off a puff of air every half an hour . I replied , but that's Marvins job :giggle:

I doubt all these smelly things will still be with us in ten years time, thanks to their health risks. They emit volatile organic compounds that are known to cause at the very least, irritation of the respiratory system and at the worst, real bad stuff. There are plenty campaigns to have them banned from public places.
Now with the focus on air pollution, every single possible culprit is being scrutinised. I pray these things get the chop.
Worst of the worst is staying in a hotel or guest house where they've activated those stinky bottles of perfume that you plug into an electrical outlet. Or those bottles of the stuff with those reedy things dipped in them. I also don't get those things people hang in their cars. Why? Why not just open the window and let whatever smell's in there out? And if you are a smoker and your car stinks, well, suck it all up. You've paid for it.

Those candles always smell, and look , nice in the shop, but they make me sneeze and the scent seems to disappear in the house anyway and once they're partway burned down they look awful too.
We bought some scented sticks at christmas, cinnamon of course, and they worked much better.

A fireman came to my house to fit some smoke alarms and do an assessment and he said that candles and chip pans are the biggest cause of fires in Leeds.
I had a friend whose house was burned to the ground from a candle that cockled over whilst it was burning.

My irritating lazy dirty neighbour with 2 teenagers 3 cats and a husky usually has a candle burning on the window sill.
Mind you it will no doubt be industrial stinky strength ..do they do candles with bleach fragrance?
