Thats sort of the ethos behind PR isn't it, how it started. Just a bunch of mates that go for a run together, it's why it works. I really hope a bunch of them still turn up and run the course anyway, or even better 300 people randomly running different routes and starting/ finishing at different times and places, as none organised as possible, just to show how ridiculous the council is being. So if 300 runners just happen to turn up a the same time and go for a run at the same time but noone organisies it who can the council charges ??
or all start together and declare that they aren't part of the event, just doing the route (as it's perfectly legal to do on a sportive on public roads)…Thats sort of the ethos behind PR isn't it, how it started. You will give the council's ideas £1 a go for the slide ,swings £1 a minute . This public finance lark easy off to put up for local parish councilAbsolutely ridiculous cash grabbing scheme by the council which will deter people from exercise.
If they'd looked at the bigger picture free exercise like this should be promoted! A healthier local population reduces the burden on local NHS services and it will also draw non-local runners to the immediate area who otherwise would have no reason to visit, the incresed footfall will help local cafes & shops.
It's a ruddy park, what next charging the kids who use the swings?
Correct. There should be a law against such tomnobberyNobbers
