This morning, I was climbing up one or our local climbs (Terry's Lodge, for those that know North Kent). It's not ultra steep, but my old club have used it for their Hill Climb and I was in the saddle slowly climbing up one of the steep bits, when My Garmin bleeped.
The auto-pause had turned itself on and stayed on for about 12 seconds! Was I really going that slow that the satellite did not detect any motion?

Now ain't that weird. This morning I climbed Cotman's Ash Lane which is the next road along and suffered the same problem. I was thinking it was because of the tree cover.

I know the one you mean, there's a couple of nice views off to the right which are a good excuse to stop for a sec.
Not far away my Garmin often auto stops on the single speed going up that short, steep section through the bluebell wood towards Downe. It's a trick weaving from side to side at walking pace and listening out for cars above the sound of gasps!

Is that off the A227?
Top is A227, bottom is by Pilgrims Way. Easiest way to find it is north off the A20 between Humphries & Parkes and Wrotham Golf course.

There are hills up and down the face of the Weald (Yalding, Hunton, Linton, etc) you could do a stich thread along. Similarly North Downs between Pilgrims Way and North Downs Way, quite a few steep enough climbs. South Downs climbs tend to be longer but shallower I reckon.

There really are some fab routes around that part of Kent despite my hatred of hills. I miss riding through the Weald and down into Sussex.
