You want to know what they are?
I'm not desperate to find out to be honest, but it does seem a strange thing to get worked up about. I suppose you could say it was a semi-rhetorical raised eyebrow.

Having said that, if I were a pest controller I would spend my time ridding the world of wasps. Bastards.

So why were you on the pavement in a city ?

I think it's the attitude of the a person who actually goes out and pays to replace a perfectly legal good numberplate with one which is illegal, usually in some incredibly naff small italic font, just the sheer farking narcissistic mindset of actually making effort to do something however minor against the law that doesn't even look that good and then to drive around knowing nothing is likely to happen. If I were a policeman (god forbid) I wouldn't be able to resist, total zero tolerance policy. I guess it's like the noisy exhaust thing I mean paying to make your car louder, like "now everyone can hear my car when I drive around" I mean what the actual fark is going on in your mind?

Cycling on the pavement is antisocial, and stopping it improves the quality of life in the community.

It is the job of police officers to do as you suggest.
Not necessarily. The Home Office guidance is quite useful.

No it's "Now everyone can hear my mum's old Vauxhall Nova when I have to over-rev it just to get away from the lights"

Can't see the problem. You broke the law and you got caught, end of story. The officer involved was nice enough to let you off with a warning, you were lucky. Like speeding motorists, bleating on about "catching real criminals" is irrelevant as is saying lots of other people break laws, they do - but a motorist stopped for a duff plate or exhaust etc etc will be fined [unless as in your case the officer decides to issue a warning]. Sure a lot get away with things but then so did you.
Get over it, you broke the law.

I was a PCSO, it’s the biggest joke of a job ever. You’re stuck in limbo trying to half do a job because of limiting powers, it’s just like a sheep in wolfs clothing. Anything you come across that needs to be dealt with that’s illegal you have to call for the real police, anything minor you usually find a local agency’s that can help e.g. noisy neighbours or little shitty kids. It’s basically a cheap police presence to reassure the public, but it’s like having a fake army with plastic guns asking them to guard a base. I left in the end due to pure frustration. Anyway rant over, sounds like he just wanted you to know “he had the power”.

flippant comments aside, some from me, what we have here is PCSO hired to discourage sub-criminal anti-social behaviour - so said PCSO ticked you off, you admitted it & desisted and got back on the road - job done. no doubt if you'd been riding hell for leather through a group a pensioners you'd have been ticketted - so action of PCSO was proportionate and sensible. And just because PCSO would have to call in proper cops to handle an armed robbery doesn't devalue their role of providing the odd " Oi, pack it in!" when needed.

Sorry for derailing the post with a sensible answer - I try not do do it too often
