A few flashes here on the distant southern horizon. Think it might be heading our way though as the radio's gone crazy with static.

all over now of course but down here in the south east in kent we were battered by very strong wind and a bit of rain with lightning every few seconds..... whilst in the middle of a field with 2 other men finishing off the hay bale stacking! trust me it's difficult to tie knots in the middle of a storm in the dark at half nine at night!
Cheers Ed

Woken up for the second morning running at 6 am in Shropshire by thunder and heavy rain. One very big bang that set off a couple of alarms in the local area. Seems to just be rain at the moment

What annoys me is that I t ook the time to set up my cameras last night as I am not working today so had time to play - no lightning!

Where is the hail they keep talking about, I have already been asked to go to France to work but business keeps me here.

Whilst on the weather topic, I just noticed on Monday that the last patch of snow had melted from the hill overlooking my home:smile:.

I discovered that site via twitter last night and I was using it about 2 am and again at 5 am! It was nice leaning out the landing window hearing the rain fall. Though I've just been digging in the garden and despite an inch of rain, the ground is still reasonably dry if you dig down. The pond appreciated the rain though!

i've been watching the storm coming over from France, it stumbled over the South Downs and then turned NE towards Essex, via Kent

i did manage to et a shot of one of the strikes - bear in mind this was in kent and i am in SW London it turned out ok.

Nice! Can you tell from that site which way things are headed? Like, there seems to be quite a lot going on 30 miles west of me....can I tell whether we're going to get hit in an hour or three?

If you use it along side raintoday or rainydays then you can have a pretty good guess as to what's coming

sometimes its obvious as you see the pattern. Friday night was great watching it roll over the channel towards Brighton and then seeing it turn, the new strikes coming North and east as it shifted and hit Eastbourne.

if it's just a storm bubbling up from nothing, then no.
