I heard some slates shatter on the pavement outside at about 18:30. I had a look and there are the remains of what looks like 2 broken slates in front of my neighbour's house, which probably means that they came off her roof, but the wind was strong enough to have blown them sideways off my roof or that of one of the other neighbours. I will stand across the road in the morning and see if I can spot where they came from.

The expected 100 mph winds didn't happen here. I've seen and heard worse than we had today, though i think the warnings if somewhat exaggerated are a good idea as they keep the numpties inside!

I think we had a couple of gusts near the 100mph mark Accy, I was at work and one blew the door open and lifted all the interior tiles out on the suspended ceiling, was pretty scarey really, was like a small bomb going off and then all the dust making the office very foggy............I even ducked, a visiting driver ran outside.

Worst winds I can remember in manchester! I've lost at least 10 fence panels already. Lots of bumps and sliding noises coming from the roof as well. I think the insurance companies will be busy tomorrow (trying to wriggle out of paying us out )
I think I'll give the bike as miss for a bit.:stop:
