Got back last night to find the skylight window above the flat roof extension has gone. My dining room was full of weather! Was up til midnight banging a piece of wood over the hole.

Wild here in NE England over-night. Looks like those to the West got a right seeing too, again.

Not to worry our Environment Secretary doesn't believe in Global Warming so it's just a bad year that won't happen again for ages and ages.

Que Sera Sera...the biggest problem is not that we are getting extreme weather as that is not an invention of mankind, but that we decide to build houses in its path

Cheshire - the wind was strong very much like a regular gale but the gusts were really solid and threatening.

Crewe station had a fire and lost it's roof and had to be evacuated and there are trees down everywhere- we lost power for 3 hours.
best thing that could happen to Crewe railway station. Coldest place I know! :cold:

My OH struggled to get home last night (by car - cycling it would have not been possible even if his bike was not 'off the road') because of the Thelwall Viaduct being closed and that meant chaos in Warrington where he works. (the diversion takes you onto the M56 then A49 and M62... (or reverse for south bound traffic) and goes right passed his office) tested his memory of the back lanes we cycle together... and there were apparently issues on the M56 around our way as well...

One of our neighbours lost their brand new 2 week old car when a tree came down on it whilst they were driving down our lane and we have only just got our electricity back after +12 hrs without which isn't too bad all considering (same tree took out the electricity, so poor guy having a really bad day because his home was further down the lane than the tree!). Slept well considering the gales going on outside - house was lovely and quiet and dark with no electricity!

Now to play dodge on the roads trying to pick my way & through the fall out of last night as I cycle over to my parents' home...
