You've obviously not been to Blackpool for a while, it's the Las Vegas of the north.

Last time I was in Blackpool, I admit, was maybe 15, 17 yeas ago. We walked along the seafront sideways, so as to keep our backs to the sandblasting coming off the beach. Outside a shop selling rock in the shapes of full english breakfasts and gentials and so on, there was an A-board, with a piece of paper stuck to it, on which had been scrawled in marker pen, "We Sell Fags".

Class!

It was sunny in London today, but the wind was still strong... pushed the bike side to side a bit.

I am glad you told me that last bit, I thought we were having a cold and wet July.

Today was the first time that a car has been used as a weapon against me. It was a Toyota Yaris, and driven by a 60 something woman. I was over in Gloucester on the motorbike, there was about 30 yards of standing water on one of the roads in from the bypass, nothing major, they get it there every year. Everybody was taking it in turns to go through nice and steady on the apex of the road, got to mine, Nothing was waiting at the other side, and so I start to trickle my way through (was about 2" deep at the apex at the worst point so not too bad). I get half way in, and the woman bombs into the water from the other side, she slows a bit, points her car towards me to force me over to the deep water of the gutter , and then starts waiving her arm at me to move out of her way and speeds up creating a big wash....what a witch ...and then she drives straight into the mother of all traffic jams in all directions ^_^
Our weather is so bonkers now I feel the need to clarify these things, july 2012 was nearly as cold and at least 10x wetter than it is this February ( that here in the Scottish Borders)

Whacky weather coming to a place near you any time soon.....

EDIT:
add some stats to my above comment
User9609 Towers weather station
first 2 weeks July 12 136.2mm rain av temp 10.4c
first 2 weeks Feb 14 16.4mm rain av temp 4.2c
The big floods of 2007 in Gloucestershire were in the middle of July. We had more water in the system then than now by a considerable margin. to get back to that level here would require heavy rain from this point on for another 6 weeks.

Nah, that year we went to Alton Towers...

( a bunch of us from work were roller coaster fans. Before we had Sunday opening to work, we used to organise trips to theme parks)
