A couple of nearly's but no.

Was in Herts with @jayonabike & @CharlieB yesterday and at one point, the wind was so strong from the side we were riding at what looked like a 45 degree angle...

I know where my towel is
I decided not to brave the forecasted 50mph winds this morning...
Back on the bike tomorrow.

The only time I came close to falling off was at a junction along Stratford High Street which was acting like a funnel, beyond that nothing all that hairy.

Not quite but the gusts bought me to a complete standstill a couple of times, only managed to average just over 11 on the way in. The ride home should make up for it ^_^

Went out for a short one today, lots of field gateways and farm entrances where I live, pretty heart stopping when the cross wind catches you when passing an entrance

yep - few years ago in Northern Ireland I was blown off my loaded touring bike and very unceremoniously dumped on the well padded (with moss) grass verge squarely between 2 gate posts where the gate was (thankfully) missing. Somone was clealry looking after me that day (either that or the effects of the Bushmills distillery tour the previous day helped to negate the effects of the fall.)

I have also been brought to a complete halt sveral times by head winds and on one very memorable day in Northern Norway actually found it too windy to keep my bike on any side of the road and ended up trying to push the bike instead. me at 45 degrees one way and it 45 degress the other way...It was a very hard day and one of the few days I have seriously wondered why I cycle at all. It is also the only time I have seriously considered sleeping the night in a public toilet due to the weather conditions - but that is another story entirely!

I brazenly cheat!

Once many years ago on a bike with a large handlebar bag fitted, I think I was somewhere near Banbury when a strong gust dumped me on my arse on the grass verge, I've also had a few instances where the bike was moving around underneath me a lot due to gusting side winds, it gets a bit disconcerting on a fast descent on the fixed and the front of the bike is wandering around.

I nearly ended up in another bush this morning. I was also 5 mins late for college because of the wind.
Going to get the bus tomorrow because the wind is meant to increase more (well that all depends on how I feel). I have to get up half an hour earlier for the bus so I might as well cycle anyway. Dont know yet, will just have to see how things go.

Gave the bike a miss yesterday, as well as the strong winds the fallen trees and debris on the roads made the decision easy. Every cloud has a silver lining as I now have next years log supply^_^
