The one on the left looked a slicker operation inside so I agree with you there.
The pet shops puzzled me too. There's one about a mile away from here in West London, but I can't think of any others. The Pet shops is weird though which one came first and then the sanity of the person who open the second one. My educated bet, one on the right first left second....
Isle of Thanet? You might be balls-deep in pet supplies, but just try and find a copy of the Guardian!
I was brought up in Folkestone, I left in 1974,
I was born in 1974, just along the road in Dover.
Same thing in my home village of Enderby, one of the Co-op stores was a Somerfield before they were bought out. They don't want to get rid of one shop in case the likes of Aldi take it on.The two Co-op thing is not unique. For some reason, in Denmead (eight miles up the road from me) there are two right opposite each other. One does appear to be a post office though...
Actually, Enderby is one of the sort I mentioned. The ex-Somerfield is run by the co-op group based in Manchester, while Mill Lane is Central England Co-op of Lichfield. CE buy some branded products from the group (and thereby own a share of it as a customer) but they are different companies which used to use the same branding but the group has gone all cyan and grey lately while CE still uses green as far as I know. It's like you used to get some Premier or Londis stores close together but they just bought the same brand and weren't the same business.Same thing in my home village of Enderby, one of the Co-op stores was a Somerfield before they were bought out. and the OP's are both group. Not sure what's going on there.
Yeah, but I've been told all sorts of stuff by locals that isn't actually what's happenedSee post 15
